 Tips for Holiday Gift Shipping

If you are traveling this holiday season and you want to make your airport security experience go smoothly, shipping your gifts ahead is the smart way to go.  Extra baggage fees and added restrictions as to what can and cannot be brought on-board has made traveling with gifts more difficult.

Whether you're visiting or staying home for the holidays, Pak Mail of Livermore provides the following guidelines to make your holiday shipping safe, easy, and economical:
 

Ship Early.  For U.S. destinations, December 15th is the recommended deadline from the United States Post Office to ship Parcel Post packages to arrive by Christmas. However, on-time delivery is not guaranteed by regular postal service. Click to read more
 

Know Size Restrictions.  Most carriers enforce a maximum of 165 inches in length and girth, and a maximum weight of 150 lbs. US Postal restrictions are less. Click to read more

Consolidate packages.  Shipping one 20-pound box costs less than shipping two 10-pound boxes. Click to read more
 
Protect shipments. Have packages professionally packed to best protect against damage or loss, particular if items are fragile or valuable. Click to read more
